Running from the Arizona border near Mexican Hat all the way north to Idaho, the Utah BDR is celebrated for having some of the most dramatically diverse and contrasting terrain in the country. Riders will experience everything from challenging deep-sand tracking and iconic red rock formations around Moab to sweeping, high-elevation alpine trails winding through dense aspen forests in the northern half of the state.

Utah BDR
As one of the newer crowning achievements in the BDR network, this 900-mile route crosses over thirteen mountain ranges to take riders deep into the heart of Big Sky Country. The track beautifully blends flowing forest roads and rugged two-track with breathtaking scenery, leading riders past panoramic alpine ridgelines like the Gravelly Range, historic mining hubs like Butte, and pristine, remote valleys all the way to the Canadian border.

Montana BDR
Idaho BDR
Starting in the ultra-remote desert mining town of Jarbidge, Nevada, the massive Idaho BDR cuts 1,250 miles straight up to the Canadian border, making it a legendary, deeply forested endurance test. This heavily wooded route treats riders to endless twisty mountain gravel, relaxing natural hot springs, and historic, isolated tracks like the famous Magruder Corridor and Lolo Motorway that skirt pristine, roadless wilderness areas.

Wyoming BDR
Widely considered the most remote and isolated route in the entire BDR system, the Wyoming BDR traces a rugged path through five distinct mountain ranges and vast short-grass prairies. This true backcountry expedition features moderately technical, pristine two-track that climbs over multiple 11,000-foot summits, winds through the postcard-perfect "Aspen Alley," and demands careful self-sufficiency and planning due to its sheer wildness.

Nevada BDR
Colorado BDR
The historic crown jewel of the Backcountry Discovery Routes, the Colorado BDR crosses the state from the Four Corners region north to Wyoming, delivering the ultimate high-altitude alpine experience. It is famous for its steep, rocky, and technical mountain passes—like Ophir, Engineer, and Hagerman—which push machines and riders to nearly 12,000 feet amidst towering 14,000-foot peaks, massive aspen groves, and historic gold-rush mining towns.
